Who is Marcia?

I am a Christian, a survivor, a mom, a dog mom, a wife, an active community volunteer. I am not perfect. I have flaws and rough edges.

The purpose of this blog is to help me get thoughts out of my head and onto paper (so to speak). I’ll be giving you a glimpse into the daily conversations I have with God. Some of this may not make sense but bear with me. Take what pieces you need. Pass along the pieces others will benefit from.

As we head down this journey together, I’ll share my story about my faith and how it’s had it’s highs and lows. It’s not a straight line and many of you have been a critical part of that journey.

I mentioned I’m a survivor. I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in June 2016. Nothing sends your world into a tail spin like that. There’s a lot to unpack on that topic which I’ll save for another day.

I’m a mom to two amazing children, Zack and Meredith. They are truly the light of my life and I couldn’t be prouder of them. You’ll hear more about each of them as this all evolves as well. I’ve always said I should have written down all of their antics because sometimes you just can’t make that stuff up.

I’m a dog mom. I have two dogs – Tucker and Scooby. I adopted Scooby this past April. He’s special needs and is such a character. He was born with lesions on his brain that impacted his vision and his mobility. He’s a bit clumsy and runs like Scooby Doo so hence the name Scooby.

I’m a wife. I got married to an amazing man this past New Years Eve. He came into my life at just the right time and stood beside me through the whole cancer journey. I gave him the “out” if he wasn’t up for it and he stuck with me. Lot’s to unpack on that topic too.

I’m a community volunteer. I’m not as active right now. A lot of my involvement feel by the wayside when I was going through treatment. It’s time to pick that back up which has led me to writing this blog.

Stay tuned for how this all plays out and I hope you’ll join me on this journey we call life.
